Place the baking dish inside a larger baking pan containing 1 inch of water. This is called a water bath (Baño María). Put the whole thing into the oven, preheated at 350 degrees. Bake for 45 to 55 minutes. Poke the flan with a toothpick to check if it is ready to flip. If it comes out dry is ready.
