• 3 eggs, 1 package of yellow cake
  • 1 can of condensed milk
  • 1 can of evaporated milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Dash of salt


To make the caramel, heat a deep baking dish and pour the sugar to make the caramel. Set aside and let it rest. Blend all the other ingredients in the mixer for one minute. Make sure caramel is cool and has been spread all over the bottom of the baking dish. Follow the instructions to make the packaged cake mixture. Incorporate the cake mixture into the flan mixture very slowly. Place the baking dish inside a larger baking pan containing 1 inch of water. This is called a water bath (baño María). Put the whole thing inside a 350-degree oven for 45 to 55 mins or until a toothpick comes out clean.

To flip the flan, place a serving platter over the baking dish and flip.
