• 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 large onion, diced.
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced.
  • 1 spanish chorizo, diced.
  • 1/4 lb ham, diced.
  • 1/4 green bell pepper, diced.
  • 3/4 cup tomato sauce.
  • Salt and pepper to taste.
  • 2 cans of garbanzo beans (or 1 lb of previously cooked garbanzos)


Heat the oil over medium high heat and add the first 7 ingredients to make a sofrito. Add the ham and the chorizo and let simmer for a few mins until the sauce is thick. Add the garbanzos and continue cooking for about 20 mins, tossing until the sauce is reduced and dried.
